About Standby Generators — Whole-Home, Estate & Commercial Backup Power

A standby generator is a permanent appliance — pad-mounted, plumbed into the gas line, wired through a transfer switch, and sized to the service it protects. This collection runs the liquid-cooled end of that market: Briggs & Stratton Fortress units from 60kW up to 200kW, on LP vapor or natural gas.

The voltage coverage is the part that matters on commercial jobs. The same 100kW block comes in 120/240V single-phase, 120/208V three-phase, and 277/480V three-phase, with factory breakers from 175A up to 800A. Block heaters and battery chargers ship included, which saves the two most common cold-weather no-start calls we see. At 60kW the Fortress LPV/NG covers estates and small commercial; at 150–200kW you're into retail, agricultural, and light industrial services.

We've specced enough of these to say it straight: pick the voltage configuration off the service entrance, size kW off the load calc — NEC 220 or a measured 30-day demand — and let the gas utility confirm BTU supply before you commit to anything over 100kW.

60kW through 200kW, single and three-phase — the full liquid-cooled range is stocked.
